About

I have lived in Prairie Village for most of my life. I attended Prairie, Indian Hills, and Shawnee Mission East. I graduated from the Johnson County Community College Honors program and then went on to UMKC to earn my Bachelor’s from the School of Education with a major in Elementary Education.

I spent several years teaching in the Shawnee Mission School District before my husband and I started a local music and sound production company called Substream Music & Sound Design.

We have 3 children who are all attending public schools in Prairie Village. Our youngest is attending Prairie and our oldest two are both at Shawnee Mission East.

In 2018, my involvement in City related issues really took off. I led efforts in Prairie Village to address our aging electrical infrastructure which had resulted in multiple power outages on my block. I pulled together neighbors, elected officials, and City staff to address this issue. Through these efforts KCP&L upgraded and replaced our electrical infrastructure along this grid.

During this same time period, I also led efforts to address infrastructure and maintenance concerns, such as crumbling sidewalks, within the Prairie Village Shops and Corinth Square. All of the these issues were addressed by First Washington and promptly fixed.

After connecting with residents, City staff, and attending nearly every City Council meeting for over a year, I decided to throw my hat in the ring and run for City Council. Since being elected in 2019, I have had the pleasure of working on a number of initiatives and learning so much about local government. I absolutely love serving the community I've called home since I was a little girl.

During my time on the Council I have served on the Arts Council, Parks & Rec, PV Foundation, Finance Committee, and the Insurance Committee. I am also the founding Chair of the Prairie Village Diversity Committee. Prior to joining the Council, I completed the Prairie Village Citizens Police Academy.
